About the Yakel community.
Ni Yakel - a traditional village in Tanna island, Vanuatu. The way of life of past centuries.
One of the most friendliest and happiest people in the World.
The Ni Yakel community on Tana Island has a fully traditional Kastom lifestyle.
The village people eat what the forest provides and wear handmade clothes sourced from local materials.
They still dress in bush attire. Women go topless, wearing Nangaria leaves; men wear mal mals, similar to loincloths.
Their way of life has stayed the same for centuries. The Ni Yakel Villagers are one of the friendliest and happiest people in the World.
They build their houses across the top of Banyan trees.
Probably the current inhabitants of Ni Yakel are the last generation(s) of an ancient tribe.
