When choosing the subject for my painting, I found a photo of an old Sludka on the Internet, which impressed me very much. This picture was taken in 1896. I wanted to learn more about this village and decided to paint a picture dedicated specifically to the historical Legend.

Did you know that Sludka is located at the confluence of two rivers – the Obva and the Kama, and has been known since 1558? Already at that time, the Stroganovs used the inhabitants of Sludka for various works related to the wiring of their caravans with salt and metal along the rivers of the Urals, the Volga region and the central part of Russia. Sludka is rightfully called the "Homeland of captains".
