I've been painting for about 30 years but I've been enjoying it more now that I paint with more freedom and experimentation. I've done several portraits in pencil, although I much prefer painting landscapes because of the freedom the subject invites. I tend to have two main themes when deciding on a subject - an Irish scene or an imaginary landscape. I've painted the Mourne Mountains in the north of Ireland and Ashleigh Falls in County Mayo, as well as Armagh Cathedral and the surrounding area. Lately, I've been painting larger, more expressive scenes, with more emphasis on atmosphere and weather conditions, which adds more feeling to the scene. I hope you enjoy my work as much as I enjoyed painting it.
